Beskrivelse af service

Copenhagen Food & History Tour will start at Rådhuspladsen (City Hall Square) in front of Politikens Boghal (bookstore). A short walk from the starting point we will make our first stop to visit a true old fashioned smørrebrød store, where we pick one smørrebrød (open faced sandwich) each to go. Walking through the Latin Quarter, we will pass by the oldest bakery in town. There we will try a Copenhagen classic, the Tebirkes (poppy seed pastry), while we get the story of the Danish pastry. The hotdog has a special place in every Copenhagener’s heart. Diving deeper into the city center we will try one each to discover how the Danes have enhanced this classic dish - and also, we will learn some true Danish hotdog slang. Next, we will visit one of the oldest butcher shops in Copenhagen to get a mini tasting of their renown organic sausages and salamis. Moving on, we will stop to get a coffee or an elderflower juice and hear why the Vikings liked the elderflower so much. After exiting the inner city, we will end tour in Torvehallerne (the Copenhagen Food Halls) where the famous Danish Frikadelle (meat ball) is waiting for us. We will also try its New Nordic sibling and get the history of the New Nordic Cuisine that has revolutionized the Copenhagen Food scene. Before we say good bye, we will grab a beer from the world-famous craft beer brewery, Mikkeller.
